The Friends of the Ballard Locks is a group of volunteers dedicated to preserving the history of the Hiram M. Chitttenden Locks and the Carl S. English, Jr. Botanical Gardens.  The members of our group are organizers and caretakers of the historic artifacts of the Locks and Gardens.
We are currently researching photographs, articles and documents. and writing articles and planning displays for the centennial celebration of the locks in 2017. We coordinate with other local history groups and offer research, photographic, and display support.

If you would like to help with scanning slides and photos or any of the many other tasks involved in creating an historical archive, contact us!  To volunteer, or just to find out more information, email or inquire at the Visitor's Center.
